SHARE Although studying creativity is considered a legitimate scientific discipline nowadays, it is still a very young one. In the early s, a psychologist named J. Guilford was one of the first academic researchers who dared to conduct a study of creativity. He challenged research subjects to connect all nine dots using just four straight lines without lifting their pencils from the page. Today many people are familiar with this puzzle and its solution. In the s, however, very few were even aware of its existence, even though it had been around for almost a century. If you have tried solving this puzzle, you can confirm that your first attempts usually involve sketching lines inside the imaginary square. The correct solution, however, requires you to draw lines that extend beyond the area defined by the dots. Only 20 percent managed to break out of the illusory confinement and continue their lines in the white space surrounding the dots. The symmetry, the beautiful simplicity of the solution, and the fact that 80 percent of the participants were effectively blinded by the boundaries of the square led Guilford and the readers of his books to leap to the sweeping conclusion that creativity requires you to go outside the box.
[Update] Xbox Live Issues Currently Impacting Matchmaking On Xbox One
As it so happens, the studio recently announced the implementation a patch that fixed long matchmaking times in the Crucible, while also confirming that skill-based matchmaking in PvP Quickplay is still turned off. For instance, having PvP Quickplay set up this way has the potential for some matches to result in blowouts where the losing team is filled with unskilled players who got rocked by those far more experienced than them.
We deployed a fix to all matchmaking services to address the longer than usual matchmaking times in Crucible and other activities. Matchmaking based on player skill is still disabled in Quickplay. We will continue to monitor all matchmaking and update you on any further changes. Generally speaking, PvP Quickplay caters to the more casual player, so more often than not there will be Guardians with a somewhat similar level of skill being matched against one another.

In the sequel to Bungie’s popular shared-world shooter, the Guardians of Earth have finally met their match with a new villain who’s got his eyes on The Traveler. Our heroes, with their powers stripped away and all their gear destroyed, are pushed back to square one and have to relearn what it means to be a true Guardian of the Light.

Here’s what the Damage Referee specifically is, in Bungie’s words: Explain it to me like I’m five: What is Damage Referee? Our goal is to give you a better experience in the Crucible when there are Internet problems outside of your control.
What’s the essential problem we’re trying to solve? In short, we’re trying to fix the Internet. Streaming movies, wireless connections, the speed of light, and a host of other things are all conspiring to harm your online experience. Normal network latency is bad enough, but even simple problems become extremely complex when the information your console is sending and receiving can be unexpectedly delayed, dropped, duplicated, folded, spindled, or mutilated.
It’s impossible to solve completely, but Damage Referee is our latest attempt to improve things for the vast majority of you.
Gonna be trying to do some strikes tomorrow, if any dudes are up for it. If that doesn’t work , try doing a hard reset. Destiny 2 Eater of Worlds Raid Lair How to prepare and what you need to know about the Destiny 2 Leviathan raid As with the likes of Vault of Glass and Wrath of the Machine with the previous game, the Raid offers challenges and rewards unlike anything else in the game. Here’s ways to prepare and things to know about Leviathan: Getting as close to max Power level will help as much as possible since Leviathan’s recommended Light level is In our experience, you can get away with some players in the lower range provided you have some players on average or higher than recommended, though by the end you’ll want to have a few levels up for the final encounters so they can stay alive and do more damage.
Similarly, don’t worry about classes too much. While certain classes and their abilities can be useful – the Hunter void class can go invisible or tether enemies for damage phases, for example – as with previous Raids on Normal mode there isn’t much that depends on a specific class or sub-class. That said, if you haven’t already it’s worth unlocking all three sub-classes to give you as many abilities as possible for both offence and defence. Bring your best weapons with you, and if possible, attempt to pack a range of weapons and armour types to maximise your range of energy options for pesky shielded enemies.
As with previous Raids, team sizes comprise of six players and there is no matchmaking – Raids revolve around tight co-ordination in puzzle-like scenarios and working with a team you know well will see you succeed. Join a clan and Raid with members of the Clan in order to unlock a bonus Engram by the end of it from Hawthorne.
